Are guns as expensive as this website says in NZ?

I was looking online at little online stores to see what kind of guns are available down here and holy hell, are these prices accurate?

    >5 K for a G3
    >3.9 K for an AR10
    >4k for a .223 AK

Is this true? It would make sense if everything else is expensive, gas clothes etc, because its an island.

    Unfortunately Yes

Local wholesalers and retailers can double the import price of a firearm.

I'd love buy them straight out of the states but you guys make it just too difficult to do so.

I'll be in California next year but can't buy any handguns or rifles there and ship them home even though I'm fully licenced here and I can get import permits for said gun from the police arms office.

Apparently I'd become Bubbas bitch's bitch for at least 25 years if I tried.

    Cheers
    Pete

Well there's at least two large islands, two middle sized Islands and numerous much smaller ones.

Hell even Australia is an Island.

What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire

Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

One could suggest that all land masses, strictly speaking, are islands.

It just seems strange that NZ is an island nation but as made up of several islands yet Australia's main land mass, being occupied by one nation is considered a continent yet geographically is an island but for some reason because it's a continent cannot be classed as an island?

Africa is a continent with 54 countries but is also geographically, an island as it is one land mass. I find it a little confusing!
