    Gunsafe dilemma!

So opened my safe this arvo locked then went out to go in there again and it would not unlock. One of the locking pins (suspect the bottom one) is not sliding out of its posistion. I cannot open my safe. It is an Ecat edge security safe which has 5 locking pins, 3 on the side and one top and bottom from memory. It is opened by a single key and a turn handle.

Any safe guru's out there? Anyone had this happen before?

    Any help much appreciated.

I had a similar problem with mine. Luckily it was only an A cat so easy enough to deal with. Won't be so easy after the modifications I made when I fixed it.

I have the same safe, fortunately for me it was already open and would not close - the lock was stuck and wouldn't turn or actuate the locking bars. I had a friend @Glycerine come around and he fixed it, was something to do with one of the plates in the locking mechanism which had moved out of place.

It's a bit trickier if the safe's locked I'm afraid. Sorry!

Dam that is pretty basic stumpy, Im guessing one of those shit welds has gone keeping one of them locked in. Reckon a Locksmith would be able to get in?

I had a bit of a struggle getting new keys cut for my safe as they use keys not commonly found in NZ (apparently). Your mileage may vary.

well , i wouldnt want to hazard a guess if a locksmith could open it , if it was me , i may drill a hole about where the bottom part is and see if you can lift it up at the same time as turning the key... then weld hole up once open ... i pulled all the plates apart and put springs between them tp "tighten " them up , ... so far never had a problem

It definitely is the bottom locking pin, managed to pry the door open enough to see that the top and side pins are unlocked kind of stumped now. Drilling would be the last resort
