They're lucky that they're still able to write about their experience.

They were extremely lucky. Resisting a carjacking like that could easily result in your untimely death.

I'd rather tackle the issue not the person but the article is interesting as to how bad crime has gotten in SA

    Yeah Karma No

I do have a theory that "We" Kiwis and others do have a tendency to react that way to a robbery/assault. I am not sure if I can generalise but in some places the reaction is not to risk your life over your stuff because you will probably get stabbed or shot. We don't really have that issue here.

I wonder if the thought of needing a firearm for protection crossed their minds at the time.
Considering her track record for alternate facts we probably need to corroborate the story.

True but it pays to choose your fights. Carjacking is probably one of those that you could end up dead either way especially if they decide to kidnap you.

If you look carefully you'll see little fuckres checking out whats in your car at the lights in Manukau and surrounding area's. A window washer will distract you and some little hood rat will be coming up from behind. pays to make sure your back windows are up.

You don't get to choose the fight - the attacker does and it's always launched from ambush.

LPG after burners should be compulsory over there! Mate here had the same experience, except the guy leant thru his window with a knife and cut his wife's shoulder bag strap and ripped it off her, lucky that's all that happened, should have had a BBQ set up!
    Boom, cough,cough,cough
