Help out a tec tard for xmas

So "Santa" got the kids some mp3 players off of the interweb and some sd cards.

What is the easyest simplest way to use the laptop/phones to put some music on the sd card....Wifey( the IT girl ) has so far failed and I am bloody useless also.

If your laptop has a SD card reader, bung the SD card onto it, and copy the mp3 files across.
If it's a Micro SD card, track down a Micro to SD adapter, place the micro SD card into it, and follow the above step.
You could always use a suitable USB cable to connect the mp3 player to the laptop, and you should see the MP3 player appear in your list of devices. Copy mp3 files to the device as you would between folders on your computer (Copy and paste, drag and drop etc).
Drop the details on the mp3 player on here, and I'll see what instructions I can find.

Apparently this is what '"Santa" bought.

Santa also got a micro sd with sd adapter.

Wifey has been trying to use "Spotify" to do it...should she be using something else?

File Explorer is generally all you need once you have your files on the PC.

I was about to give some advice but then realised I have enough trouble doing that shit myself when it is in front of me. I suggest you find a teenager.

Not sure Spotify saves a format that is compatible with MP3 players. Try finding a MP3 file on your pc, and copy that to the SD card. I suspect that will just work.

Do you need the SD card for it? I see a usb slot. There must be a usb cord with the mp3 player.. Plug one end into the player and the other into your PC.
You should be able to copy and paste the music files accross.
Copy some cds onto your computer if you dont already have music on there.
As an aside, Youtubeto mp3 is good for copying songs you like.
    Hope that helps.

If it is one with a lapel clip on it, usually the small ones, they are a bit of an arse as you have to load the music onto the SD card (plugged into your laptop) then take the SD card out and stick it into the player each time you want to change any music

If you plug the mini USB into the player and the USB into your laptop it will do one of two things-
1 show up as an external drive in which case you can copy and paste music across to it
2 Not show up as there is no memory in which case you take the SD card reader, slot the SD card into it, plug that into your laptop and it should show up as an external drive

Find an MP3 track you wanna copy (or they will often handle mp4 and wma type files too), right-click on it, choose "copy" then left-click the device (ie External Drive 8MB or whatever it shows up as) and right-click that, hit "paste" then it should move across

Sorry if that is clear as mud - I run these players all the time but haven't used windows in years

OK I will bite. What's an MP3 ? Oh and VC stop fucking around with it and show your kids the fun that can be had with a Shanghai and some tin cans on the neighbours fence.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
