Depends on what sort of pine. Up here NI East Coast, we handgun with a product called Basal X-Tree, can also use a heavy rate of Meturon and Organosilicone. Absolutely nails radiata, even big old man trees. We do it aerially into the top of the tree, but I know the label on the X-Tree does describe frilling or some sort of technique for ground based application. Hope that helps

i think those wilding pines deserve a slow death. maybe you should water the poison down a bit, drag out the suffering so their pals can watch while they wait for their dose.

Didnt they use paraquat down south some years ago, now thats nasty shit.
If only a few drill 4-6 holes round the base and fill with meturon water 1:1 that stuffs them.

Farmlands mate its about $250 for 20 litres. I apply mine with a 2 litre solo hand sprayer and that works well, it is applied neat (no water added). Essentially you are chemically ringbarking the tree. All you need to do is apply right around the tree trunk from the ground up to a height 3x the diameter of the trunk and job done. Works well on wattle's and willows too. Best thing is no drilling its sprayed directly on the trunk.

Maybe if you drill the trunk and pour it in. Dicamba would be better, ie woody weedkiller from a hardware store.
