RIP to SGT (rtd) "Magoo" Renata who was committed to the earth earlier today.

I didn't have the opportunity to meet you but the number of people that traveled far and wide to pay their respects at your tangi speaks volumes about the Mana that you have. It was also the first tangi I've ever attended and it was a deeply moving personal experience for me.

As a fellow-member of Ngati Tumatauenga, I am proud to have played a small, humble role in your send off.

Yala National Park - Sri Lanka.
Staying next to Yala Park, we need an escort whenever we leave the restaurant or our room because of all the nasty critters roaming the grounds. Went on an all day safari today, saw a crap load of animals but the main one I wanted to shoot - with my IPhone was the Leopard and I wasn’t disappointed. The first one early this morning was a big mother high tailing it across the track we were driving on, no time to snap it but the other two late this arvo couldn’t give a rats from 20 meters away, one having dinner inside some bush’s and 10 meters away the other one having a snooze.

That one having a snooze blends in well to the surroundings.
Looks like an awesome trip you’re having.
