Decided to help gadgette#2 do some shopping for an event tomorrow night. What type of ice cream should I get? What .... A few hours later.

I'm knackered, I've run way over a blokes daily word budget, and man am I in pain.

Nice to know Someone Cares! The "Hunting Season" ?

    Hi terry,

Hunting season is approaching, and it's important that you keep yourself and others safe.

There's a significant increase in the number of hunting-related incidents and Search and Rescue operations at this time each year, with target misidentification being the biggest cause of fatalities.

Mike McIlraith from the NZ Police says the responsibility is always on the shooter to positively identify their target, to avoid "immediate, tragic and catastrophic” consequences.

It's also important to take care of yourself – watch your footing, know your limits, and look out for each other. Plan your trip, tell someone your plans, and take sufficient supplies including a personal locator beacon.

Outdoor and hunting safety information can be found in the Mountain Safety Council website, and hunters at all levels of experience are encouraged to check out this material.

Take care, and have a great season.

Just back from setting up AV gear and food for gadgette#2. She's putting on a movie and desert night for some little kids. They seem pretty happy.

GM what is a desert night? Is that like a dessert night but instead of puddings it has sand , camels and Arabs?
