I finished up my last day with my former employer (who is now winding up the business ) and ...........................................have 2 Weeks casual employment with my previous one before them as they have 2 guys in the Solomons working so needed cover.

Even working at my old bench, funny as all hell

So visiting the accountant to set up a small company will just have to wait a couple weeks

And missus finally got fed up being bullied and handed in her notice yesterday. While she knows she probably has a good case for constructive dismissal she just want to move on and I for one would just like to see her smile

For the first time in 25 years both of us are unemployed, scary shit

Adds spice to life @mikee. There are not many places safer than Godsown to make a new start / have a go. You'll both be fine I'm sure.

@mikee well done fella. Alot of people are too chicken shit to make big changes in their lives because it is scary shit. But the scariest shit is always the most exciting and I think there's no bad time to take a look at your life and think, "is this what I want, does this make us happy?"
When the answer is no then it's insane to keep doing it and expecting it to start making you happy. Change is good.
Best of luck to you and your wife. Enjoy the ride.

Sounds good.... BUT your making excuses..... you don't need a accountant to set up a company - you can do it all online after hours. You can do ird number setup, online after-hours. Etc....

Don't hide from the decision, either you want to be a business owner (I think you should) or work as a employee, and form a plan - and do it.

I'm the opposite, I've gone from prime earning being self employed to now being a salaried employee. With a side of company ownership. This due to be a lazy prick, kids, being a specialist, can't be bothered, good new job, etc....
