Just been doing some plinking on my range. @Beaker I was using CCI standard .22LR. The spinners spun well but the flappers flopped. I will need to rethink the design as the bolt I used was a bit to light weight and the first round hitting the target separated the bolt head from the shank. Easy fix if I swap out the remainder with a stronger bolt.

Made the mistake of drinking some of the fat/oil off of the top....its not particularly pleasant and I can still taste it a couple of hours later.

I bolted the target to 30 cm piece of D9 fan belt so it would swing when hit but the weakest point was the bolt I used. I will just up the strength of the bolt and that will solve the problem VC. The target and the bit of fan belt are fine.

I just bought it to a simmer 3 times and on the third time drank some of the oil/fat which wasnt very nice......it kinda put me off and it wouldnt be fair to the bird to eat it after that so it is glad wrapped in the fridge and will be fried or grilled tomorrow night....had roast veg and pan fried flounder fillets instead.

Fat just running out of it!

Which presumably means it shouldnt be dry if grilled or fried.
    Will find out soon.
