Hmmm. And THAT is not an MSSA...

Take a look at the rifle - that's a full AK47 I suspect. No evidence of it being a semi version from what I can see of that side... So, where did that come from?

Not that it ever made the news in a significant way, but when I was reading all the stuff on the meth trade I came accross an article that said sub machine guns had been confiscated with Meth up North.

When you bring meth in by the ton, no big deal I guess.

And here I was thinking it was a bit close to home.

It appears to be a Norinco copy of an AK... see the ported gas tube and flat sided foregrip. The freestanding pistol grip hints that it is pre-2012 or so, (sorry, can't recall the date) when the stupid thumbhole rule for semi's came in. It's missing a folding bayonet under the barrel, so probably a semi-auto rather than military version, but hard to say without seeing a better pic.
The Police Museum in Porirua has incorrectly labelled one of the Aramoana firearms as an M1, when it is actually a SKS with bayonet. Don't hold your breath for them to get anything right when it comes to firearms.

That would follow a growing pattern. They're saving the full wrath of the law for you and me.

Seem to be finding these firearms pretty regularly at the moment. Another gang

    https://i.stuff.co.nz/national/crime...gols-gang-bust

After the one above I heard Hosking interview Nash. Hosking asked Nash where these firearms came from?

Nash replied that he had no idea where they came from because NZ doesn't have a firearms register !!

My eyes rolled and I thought "Nash you f#$kin prick !!"

To my way of thinking....just more evidence that the buyback only got the 'buy in' from the law abiding folk !!!!

    Surprise, surprise

Yup, just like the one offered to me for $500 when I went to buy a vintage car in Jaffasville............only that Norinco still had it's bayonet.
I'm not absolutely certain of the facts, but I rather fancy it's Shakespeare who says that it's always just when a fellow is feeling particularly braced with things in general that Fate sneaks up behind him with the bit of lead piping.

It was a confusion of ideas between him and one of the lions he was hunting in Kenya that had caused A. B. Spottsworth to make the obituary column. He thought the lion was dead, and the lion thought it wasn't

SO if you are fishing without a licence and the offence is license related its sort of null n void..... you not breaking the rules you arent buying into following....so does it cross over to other sectors...eg drunk behind wheel without license ....cant be license offence if dont have one.... no FAL so the charge is possession without license ...but IS IT possession of prohibited???

What's the difference between the 56 and 56S, in terms of the select fire bits? I'm sure I've seen one identical in terms of furniture and lack of bayo fittings but on a C and three position selector...
