    Home theatre help

So after at least a year of pestering the better half for a new TV last week I was given permission I'm now having some major frustrations trying to get it all to work, and was hoping someone would have the answer.

The TV is 4K so I bought a new 4k capable Amp to allow all our devices to plug in and be pushed through to the tv. I can get all the video no problem at all but no audio.

Amp HDMI out is going to the TV
    HDMI 1 CBL/SAT is Sky/Vodafone Box
HDMI 2 BD/DVD is WDTV media thingy
    HDMI 3 nothing
    HDMI 4 Game is a PS4

i have tried just plugging the HDMI from the TV directly to sky and the picture and sound works fine. From my limited knowledge it seems to be the Amp not playing the audio from each device but sending the video. The biggest thing is all my main HDMI cables are wired behind the wall so if it turns out to be an issue with them I'm a little up the creek.

What is frustrating is the previous amp and tv was plug and play. Any help would be appreciated.

Harvey no nuts want the amp back to check it out, big thanks to @gonetropo for lending me some cables to eliminate them as the issue.

is there a separate audio out as in right left rca plugs.also check that there is not a switch on the hdmi output and try another cable as have struck faulty cable and also make sure that there is not a poor connection as in not in straight at either end apart from that check amp output setting incase there are different output settings .

If you have an amp you usually want the sound to go to the speakers attached to the amp rather than the TV.
    mikee and Beaker like this.

    Optical cable didn't help unfortunately.

Thanks for the diagram had all those settings used including ARC. I'll see what they say after looking at the AMP and let you know. Kinda hoping it is something wrong with it cause if not I'm running out of fixes.

I have had issues with the sky box in the past, something they have added to stop us recording. I used the sound output from the tv back into my amp. But I’m still old school with rca plugs.

What model of Amp and TV.

The AMP isn't set up for a zone 2 or set up for bypass? Does the sound work if you turn the TV volume up?

Pioneer VSX 832 and a Samsung QLED TV. No sound with either TV or Amp volume up. Its back with the store now so hopefully they sort it. Old amp back in and functioning perfectly with video and sound.
