    Hooning in pumice country

Bit of fun today tearing around like loons, exploring old tracks and areas with a couple of hair brained bikers that are old enough to know better

It was not entirely event free for my team mates as a couple of power slides forced a decent dirt nap or two and one whiskey throttle helped a gopro tear from a helmet and a radiator crushed reducing its usefulness to zero as the hapless rider performed a perfect human cannonball flight off into the low scrub.

Was great weather and good to see some old areas again

Some great little hillclimbs and jumps

    Speed here is your friend

    Even on the steep bits

Nice open terrain with an abundance of tracks

Pumice everywhere and its loose to ride on, the tracks are grippier when wet

All in all a good day and plenty of laughs ensured it won't be our last out hooning in pumice country.

He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

    Not pumice but dirt...
First round of cross country series yesterday, a shower of rain and some mean marking out left a bloody hard hill that only paul whibley made it up.
