    i Still got it

    Still got it.
2 months and 5 days after knee surgery, i ran down a shop lifter who had stolen 2 stony creek jackets (worth over$500 each).
As I ran after him I phoned the police with my mobile phone and gave "running" commenty.
I swear, I could hear the lady dispatch operator laughing as i spoke to the theif. He obviously wasn't up to the task, as I easily caught up to him and said "if your going to steal, your going to need to work on your fitness, I could run this fast all day!"
He through the jackets down and continued running, I said "come on champ, let's just go back to the shop"
He wasn't so keen on that idea and screamed "you got your stuff back, now Fuck off!"
I said "I don't want the jackets, I love catching thieves"
The operator continued typing as I gave details. She told me that police were inbound, that I thanked her for, by the time the officer arrived the theif was completely stuffed, one of the staff had caught up to us and the theif turned and spat in his face, so congratulations, you just collected an assault charge now too, dickhead.
So now he gets to spend a nice weekend in the cells.
Now, just when you thought he couldn't be any more stupid, here's the clincher, he came into the shop earlier, and put some goods on layby, so we have all his details, even if he did get away.
    Knees a bit sore.

did you end up catching him and holding him on the ground when he tired out?

if so im glad the police didn't feel the need to tell you off for holding someone against there will, like they said to me they would.

good stuff anyway! " uv got your stuff back now fuck off" is beside the point, not letting him go would hopefully stop him doing it another day to someone else.

The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me.

Well done on your chase and capture.

    And no firearms were required.

I never laid a finger on him, I just walked next to him and described exactly what was happening and where he was traveling to the dispatcher.
It's funny tho as I warned the staff today that they'll need to watch for thieves, and sure enough......
It's the running joke in store, that you will have to run faster than 3000fps if your gonna steal that.

    Well done Greg.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
