FMG for me. Lost a chunk of hunting gear a while back, they ended up giving me full replacement value (new). I was stoked.

Pretty sure these are one of the few kiwi owned insurance companies too. Mrs stopped working for the Aussie crowd recently and mentioned FMG were making good ground because of this and similar good reviews like @Gibo.

They just seem to know what's what. I'm not even rural anymore but still use them.

    I'm with Lundy

They cover all my Sporting Gear to $2500 per item, without listing the items individually on the schedule, anywhere in NZ and did eventually pay out on the claims I have made but in the meantime are right cunts to deal with.

    Cheers

Good to know, I'm with AA and thought the 'new for old' thing sounded to good to be true. Good to hear they might actually honour it. I've had some dealings with insurance companies that did not go well

AA claim was processed over the phone and took about 10min.
To be fair they have had all my insurance for over 20 years and this is the first significant claim

So rifles and other gear are covered under sporting goods? You don't need to list them separately? Just on standard contents?

If worth over $2500 I have to list gear with my insurance Co.

That's pretty much every scope and firearm I own.
Apart from my rimfires and a couple handguns.
Had one claim where I lost a scope, camera and other gear when a huge flood took a day bag on a rafting trip.
Claim was no fuss and replaces with new.

So that's per item not the total claim? I'm more worried about thieving cunts than accidental loss. Looks like I'll be beefing up around my storage room.
