It's character building, I'll give you that.

Some of you might remember my project last summer was to build a beer garden. Well this year I have decided to build a twenty five metre range in a useless bit of gully so my daughter and I can have some fun plinking away with a .22. Not being one to ever do things the easy way I have chosen to do the excavation by hand with a spade and a poor excuse for a pick called a thistle grubber. I will work away at this at the weekends and in the twilight after work. This morning I have done four hours on the spade and I have to say I am fucked. At one stage when I was sitting down having a swig of water I'll swear I heard my old man ( dead for twenty five years) say get of your arse boy, I didn't teach you to be a lazy prick. And then in my mind when I told the old bugger to fuck off, my grandfather (dead for forty five years) who drove a locomotive when I was a boy ( and probably shovelled the odd cube of coal in his day ) popped in and says I'll give you a bloody clip under the ear if you talk to you old man like that. Still it kept me digging but I have a fair bit of excavation left to go.

I'd dig a duck pond as well, you know for a couple of Hundy you'd have a bobcat in and out and you'd now be drinking Waikato! That's why they invented this new fangled shit!

Nice benching but hiring a digger would have been more fun.

Fuck me @Rushy ........ if that's all you managed to dig in four hours, I'm surprised you haven't already had a few clips under ya ear and a couple of kicks up your arse from your Grandad and Old Man.

I'd keep off that bloody Wenches whiss you call Beer if your planning on digging any further.

Or maybe you could follow old Huckleberry Finns lead and get someone else to do the digging for ya while you "supervise".

What's your daughter like with a spade?

Either way once you finished all the work don't forget to invite your mates over for a Shoot Up.

    Cheers
    Pete

I bet your Dad didn't tell to leave your spade sitting out in the paddock either Rushy.

You know, if you use that dirt to fill up some sandbags and stack'em that end would be done.
Then you can work on the shooting table with sun umbrella for the other end.
