    LOGGING

Went up Pureora to give my dog a run, couldn't believe the log loaders parked up in a small rural town. Was talking to a forestry security guy up there, log prices have crashed, China getting their logs from Russia he stated?

The log loaders weren't packed up last weekend, will the workers who have been stood down still be there when it "swings back".
The Security guy also stated that the tonnage already sitting at stock piles was astronomical.

Yep the three big F’s (Fishing, Farming and Forestry) are all being impacted on the international stage by the three big C’s (Competing Country Commerce) but don’t worry we have a saviour in the three little W’s (Winston’s Wily Ways) coz he will negotiate a good deal with the yanks. Ha ha ha ha yeh right.

Any respite from logging trucks is welcome though.

Yea think it dropped around $25 a tone, witch is probably the profit amount, a lot of crews down to 3 day weeks from what I hear
Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

I spoke to a relative today that is working in the bush, he worked all day today pulling logs and is working tomorrow...must be supplying a different market, says their quota has not dropped as yet.

The Chinese do this with everything, logs, coal, Iron ore, milk powder etc. they buy in bulk and stockpile sending the prices up, the supplier gears up to accommodate then the Chinese say they have enough and stop buying resulting in no work and a price crash, they can get what they need for f all now.

Koreans were masters at same strategy - Re Velvet and Possum skins
Buy up big and strong – scare the opposition away then slaughter the supplier
