    New PC help

    I have a new PC and wondered how easy it would be to get my files, contacts etc onto the new one, is this an easy to do thing or should i get expert techy guy do it?

    Piece of piss mate. Easiest way is to plug in the hard drive into the new one, and just copy the files across.

    This is dependant on your computing skills. It is really easy for a tech to do it, but they will probably charge you your first born to do it.

    As above, you may need to get a techy or an IT savvy friend to do this for you.

    Files are easy enough, just copy them onto an external hard drive, then plug it into the new computer and copy the files across. It's faster to just chuck the hard drive from the old computer into the new computer and copy them directly, but that's a bit harder.

    Contacts will require you to export them from your mail program, copy them over as above, then use the import function to get them back into the mail program on the new computer.

    Sorry I assumed new PC = Dead old PC.

    As Josh mentioned, External Hard drive would be the easiest option.

    @moonhunt

    Easiest way is to let a 14 year old kid loose on ya machine.

    They'll have it sorted in no time for ya.

    Pretty sure if he hasn't figured it out in 6+ years, it's not gonna be figured out ever.

    If it is a windows machine just use the easy transfer wizard (from windows 7) and do it all across the network or external HDD/Pen drive.
