Not something one sees every day?

Did anyone else happen to see one of these on a transporter going down Great South Road, Greenlane around 1535 this afternoon? I tried to get a picture but way too late. Anyway, it was one of these (just in OD) - M109 howitzer:

It was a confusion of ideas between him and one of the lions he was hunting in Kenya that had caused A. B. Spottsworth to make the obituary column. He thought the lion was dead, and the lion thought it wasn't.

On reflection given the colour and the fact that these guys are regular visitors here, it is more likely a Singaporean Primus which is similar to the M109:

It's the Singaporeans, they come to NZ every year to use and fire them in Waiouru as if they fired them at home they'd land on their neighbours and start a war. They store their shitters in NZ at Trentham or Linton I think(?) and keep the good ones at home in Singapore. It was actually them that started one of the big fires in Waiourou last year, they were 1.5km off their target impact zone!

They're mostly conscripts so I don't think they expect too much... They are huge machines, fking loud, makes NZ's 105mm artillery look pretty meek
