Ooooh I wonder what older stock might be getting disposed of??? P H M82's or something a little newer... Of course may be a couple of fiscal years before somebody gets this underway...

Anybody know got a armourer mate who might have caught the deet's on the old grapevine?

Yup... Parker Hale model 82 or m82 the civvy version was the 1200TX basically a Mauser 98 action 7.62 with a very heavy target barrel. I looked at buying one last year that turned up for sale here in Auckland. They were the PH's I think I remember them using back in the early 90's, but I could be wrong that's 25+ years ago.

The TX1200 were gone when I joined and that was in 96. They were using the AW sniper rifle, with the S&B PM2 scopes I think. But its been 12 years since I left the trade

I think that a nz based company would have a chance at this. However, they need to understand the tender docs - fully, and the expense that this means. Time will also be a issue ( ie need 2 guys full time for 12 months on the tender process, 4-10 rifles to distruction, etc... Or provable recent and comparable tests etc., ... No i havent read this tender fully, but it will be something like that) = alot of coin, for no 100% result
