    NZ Post Youshop in USA

I am well aware that Youshop will not handle anything to do with firearms (not even scope mounts or telescopic sights) but I thought I might give them a try on some small vehicle parts to reduce the US$58 the suppliers wanted for a parcel half the size of a shoe box. I ordered a pair of Hella horns and two front suspension lower ball joints for my GMC pickup and sent to Youshop for US$18 (still bloody expensive). Youshop contacted me 1-1/2 weeks ago to say they needed a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before they could forward the contents. I did some research and found that 'manufactured articles' do not require an MSDS and advised Youshop accordingly. They replied that they still needed the sheet. I replied quoting the relevant US legislation numbers that 'articles' are exempt from a MSDS. They then replied that the ball joints have a smear of lubricant on them and I needed to supply the MSDS for that. I found one for general-purpose bearing grease and sent them that (it stated that it is a non-hazardous substance) and now wait for their response. Whatever the outcome, I have learned a valuable lesson and will pay the shippers standard rate in future! This experience has done nothing but enhance my already dim view of bureaucratic fuckwits!

Have you considered Rockauto.com for your parts?

LMC truck does alot of parts for the older vehicles.

I bought the parts from LMC Truck but was using the NZ Post Youshop to get a cheaper postage rate. My bad!

They are only useful for the metrosexual fashion industry and all the crap you find on the first page of eBay.

Not for us, good buggers of the forum.

Officious little arseholes. These retards must lie awake at night dreaming up ways to piss people off. I’d be asking them for an MSDS for the shit they have between their ears

i try not to use them, but when i could get a leupold vx3 for less than 1/2 of what i could buy it locally i relented (forgive me father for i have sinned). when told its a "firearms part" i replied no its going on a crossbow which is not applicable to any firearms legislation or even an r18 item.
end result was i got a scope !

YouShop blurb. Refers in one place to "from youshop" and in another to "from the USA by YouShop", not sure if there are similar restrictions with the UK YouShop, but I guess there is.
I guess it is just a minefield for them, in the too hard basket it goes, so just pay up for shipping directly from sellers, or buy from China. In terms of global trade, the USA is sadly becoming a has-been.

That would require DG documenation in itself.

Pretty much everything that's fun @Cordite

I've never had issues with them, have bought a lot of car parts and clothing but never anything firearm related though
