    Odd kiwi death

Just looking at the morning news and spied this
Endangered southern Tokoeka kiwi found dead in Otaki: 27 May 2014
The Universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead. -Mr Peanutbutter

Wow. They will throw the proverbial book if whomever brought the kiwi to the North Island is found.

1080. The concept of farming Kiwi, like the concept of farming Weka is a brilliant one that would absolutely ensure the survival of the species.

No good farming them unless for egg production as they are shit to eat...information gathered by reading what the pioneers of this country wrote.
I imagine the Asians would jump on them for balut...now that would be a money spinner
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

Farming 1080 would be difficult. Sure it wouldn't wander, but it wouldn't breed and there would be no export market anyway.

Now those, I have eaten my fair share of. The first farmer I worked for {Northland}used to cull from a flock of about 60 on a regular basis.

I will have you know that the last wood pigeon I ate cost me two weeks wages and a blemish on my service record. Who knew that a survival course had limitations on the tucker a man could eat?
