Nobody was complaining about the petrol prices until the latest taxes were applied... just saying.

Already two fuel companies have pulled out of NZ, their profit margins are not enough for them to stay here, if any more pull out we will be really screwed by who ever is left without competition.

yea i know theres going to be quite a few joining the line if we are prepared to just bend over and take it hey we might not get it all our way but a show of a united stand might make a difference if you can make this work the fuel companys wont all pack up and leave nz im not sure if thats what people are affraid of but they can only run at a loss for so long until something gives we seem to feel sorry for the poor oil compay loosing money or the poor gvt loosing money how about poor us the workers that keep this place running we are just an easy target we are a country that our decendants have had to fight to have a comfortable lifestyle back then it was bullets and blood now its our turn but we can use our money instead its our choice we can make a difference even a small win is a win

Your on to it @Fawls keep giving the fuel companies shit and if they say it’s a small market and not worth the shit or the profit, they’ll be gone like Shell and Z will be rubbing it hands, I don’t think Mobil is a long term incumbent, Gull the one helping here in the BOP, it’s a straight hungry Govt. I see WINZ is handing out loans, shit they’re giving away my taxes yet again!

    A slight aside
My local BP is 1.84.99 per litre for diesel.
200 meters across the road is a BP truck stop. No lattes or pies etc, and you have to do the hard work of putting your own card into the slot
    Difference...$1.54 at the truck stop.
I am sure there is more too it than simply not having a manned café etc etc , but cmon

What are you guys worried about? Have you checked out what people pay for water per litre in a plastic bottle? That makes petrol seem as cheap as buggery.

I just filled up my better 1/2's transport up from dead empty............................................. .................$135 bloody dollars FMD.
I reckon for every dollar I earn PAYE and GST mean I get just 50 cents to spend on life and then more of it goes in more taxes, fuel tax, excise tax etc. Would not surprise me in the least if the actual figure was 30-40 cents actual money for every dollar earned.
