Over seas visitor and NZ E cat

So has anyone had mates from overseas come to nz, either with a nz e cat catergorised imported rifle, or go through what ever process to obtain/use a E cat in NZ? If so can you share the process, experiance?

Endorsements for Visitor Firearm Licences need to be approved by PolHQ.

Submit your application with reasons for your endorsement, I.e. competition.

You pickup your licence when you arrive at the airport. This will also be your import permit if you're bringing firearms with you.

Yes I read that also. Seems simple. Have you got actual experience of people coming in and doing it?

Not trying to be a smart arse, but it's easy to read the requirements, but can vary on what actually happens. The actually happened is the the bit I'm interested in.

The link to the Visitors Firearms License does work for A-CAT. I've used it over the past 4 years. I got a DPMS AR10 approved last October without any questions from the Arms Officer in Manakau who handles Visitors Licenses processed online - but I bought it in with a NZ A-CAT stock so all was good at the airport. Just last week got approval for an AR15 that is on the E-CAT list (not published on the NZ Police web site) but it has a NZ A-CAT stock and the local Arms Officer helped me after seeing the photos. That rifle is still overseas but I'll bring it home next trip.
