We stayed at club raro. It's cheap but does have air con.
Stayed one night at edgewater. It was really poor and cost more than club raro!
I would look at holiday houses, but definitely with air con!
Muri beach area is quite nice. There are some accom around there that are adults only.
All boats leave from the one and only port by the town. Fishing boat trips are very will priced! And depending on when you go the fishing can be excellent

Sunset resort last October was all good, nice beach about 5-10 minutes by scooter to airport and town and there were no kids at the resort. It's on the side of the island with nice beaches.

Most of the food is pretty good really, especially fresh seafood. Did some game fishing with the one man crew, Captain moko, runs the red stabi. He's a bit hit and miss as a person, can be a real dick if you have no idea what you're doing, but alright if you have some prior knowledge of game fishing.

I'd go with what puku said, we stayed at edgewater got a real cheap deal , food included. But it probably one of the biggest on raro targeting families. So if you don't want kids don't go there. Muri is the nicer part of the island.

If you want to go diving don't go to raro it's crap, go to Fiji, Solomons or Vanuatu. But I have heard the fishing is good at raro.

Definitely look at the holiday houses. We have stayed in quite a few, and they all tend to be really good.
Snorkelling in the lagoon around most of the island is pointless as it is so shallow. Titikaveka is the exception, and to a lesser extent Muri. All of the good diving is out over the reef.
We did some amazing Freediving around the southern passages - Turtles, Tuna, Sharks, and for good measure a few humpback whales. All around the same time you will be there.

I stayed there for a week last year. But all was paid for. Went fishing with a kiwi crew but the swell was pretty bad and I was sick the second half of the trip. Still managed to catch a yellow fin tuna.

The majority of the reef fish have cigi poisioning, so they tend to be off the menu. The pelagics are fair game, but are hit and miss like pelagics everywhere.
There are a few FAD's around Raro, and if you spend a good amount of time at them most of the big species will be seen. I've shot Mahi Mahi, YF Tuna, Dogtoth Tuna (on the reef), Wahoo, and Sailfish.
Definitely worth throwing the gun in if spearing is your thing.
