    Refund help

So my brother wanted to get a rangefinder for bow hunting as he didn't trust him self using mine in case he broke it.

So we went on fishpond.co.nz since there was a Nikon for $246, came with free shipping. A guy my brother works with has purchased from them and said they were good to deal with so we thought we were in.

Nope. I'll try let the screen shots of the emails do the talking

Note the dates in blue, payment received the next day

Now I sent them a message through their website which is underlined in red. Note: I never received an email that it had been canceled but I may have deleted it without reading it by accident

So I added my bank number for them to refund into and after a while asked them where it is, I didn't get a reply

And here is the latest email. The red box is what I sent, as I went through the website to get an answer as they never replied to my email.

And that's it to this day, where do I stand in this what do I do now? Send another email asking or just wait?

Never give up and keep on hassling them for your money. If you don't get any joy via email, start calling them. Email is easily ignored, phone calls not so easy...

If the person you speak to doesn't deliver, go up the chain of command so to speak. This is the downside to buying online...

Phone them and ask for your refund.

You are entitled to a refund if they did not or could not supply the goods you ordered.

Don't take No for an answer.

If they refuse to give you a refund, politely ask for their name and position title and their Supervisors name and position title.
Also ask for their registered company address.
    Write these down.

Give your name and contact details and verbally advise them that because of their stance (refusal to refund) you will now be forced to seek a remedy under the Fair Trading Act.

If that doesn't resolve the situation then go down to your local courthouse and lodge a small claim with the disputes tribunal.

The mediator of this tribunal will help you get your money back.

If all else fails take Rushy's advice and post them some fish guts .... not fresh fish guts either

    Cheers

They were on fairgo a while back if I remember correctly, selling a whole bunch of stock that they didn't have and then not notifying the people or giving refunds. Sounds like they are still at it.

Was a heap of books and something else I can't remember.

    My memory failed me slightly;

    Fishing for bargains
    Reporter: Ali Mau
What happens when you think you've nabbed a bargain, only to be told days later you can't have that item at all anymore? Our Facebook page was deluged with complaints from angry fishpond.co.nz customers, who'd bought a children's wooden toy at an 89% discount. With an RRP of around $150.00, it was on sale for $16 - and 1200 people jumped at the bargain. Fishpond then cancelled the orders, telling customers there had been a pricing error, and that there were only 19 of the toys available. Furious customers even set up their own Facebook page to vent their frustrations.

We talk to a lawyer specialising in the internet, to suss out how and when a merchant is able to cancel a sale, and whether the same rules of offer and acceptance apply whether you're buying online or in a retail store. We also get fishpond.co.nz's side of the story, and find out what they've done to make sure it doesn't happen again. And we talk the businessman who accidentally advertised a BMW on Trade Me for $1, but was good enough to honour the deal!

Lots of organisation have monthly pay schedules Toby. Too expensive to employ someone to do lots of little transactions. You will probably find it is paid, just not in 4 days. Some pay schedules are even longer. I just got sent a letter from a customer saying they are changing their payments to 97 days!

This BS pisses me off. It should be the supplier of the service or seller of the goods that dictates the terms of payment, not the recipient.
I had a big (ish ) company in Auckland beg me to do some work on their behalf up this way at very short notice, which I did. They then took for months to pay me the relatively small sum (to them) of $500, quoting "cashflow problems" . Funny that within 24 hrs of me threatening to use an outside agency to recover the debt, it got paid.
Keep pushing Toby. Squeaky door gets the oil mate

Yeah, 90 seems to be the new 30 these days. Pretty frustrating especially when it's relatively small sums involved.

    Cunts.
Also Cunts are business that wait 3 months plus before paying the bill.
My pay is in my account within 2-3 hours of the pay guy doing the pays.

There is no Fuckin excuse for it, shit is instant these days and the banks hold it for as long as they can for the interest but these days its hours not days or weeks.
