    Sika show Taupo, any good?

We are thinking of going to the sika show this month and just wanting to know how good it is? Will be taking our 5yo. A friend reckons no point in going unless we have deep pockets because itís pretty much just a whole bunch of stalls selling gear. We just spent a fortune at H&F so I donít really want to go if thatís the case. Is there any entertainment? What other stuff do they have on other than people selling gear? And do they have some good sales on there anyway?

Make sure you wear full camo hunting gears, so people know that you're a hunter

They have a good trophy competition but other than that it Is a show for suppliers to show and sell their wares.

    +1 for the heads section.
And you're wanting entertainment go to the Humping & Fisting stand and ask them in a very loud voice to explain why they have thrown all their customers under the bus in these recent & proposed law changes.

It is a bit as the others have said.
But it is worth a look/supporting.
You do get to have a look at a lot of stuff.
It is a show that gives hunter a good look/profile.
You will see gear, rifles, supplies etc that you do not see in the local hunting shops.

Ha ha. During the meat hunting days opening of duck shooting was a good time to be jumping fences 'cos the cockies were all half pissed in their Mai Mais How things have changed.

And I ended up a cocky myself. Ironical.

Haha we did actually think about going out during the weekend but would be down that area so I figured some would take the opportunity to head out for a hunt before or after the sika show and public spots might get a bit busy

CNI is always busy. Blaze it up and don't spook and shoot if you can't see a deer.

I always enjoy the Sika Show, it's a great way to catch up with everyone.

Yes it's mostly about sales to many people but there is the head & calling comps & a few other things to do, I have heard that it's getting more expensive to exhibit at etc, but I hope people still support it as it shows the hunting & shooting community as the good buggers we are & we need all the good PR we can get at the moment.

I hope they have sorted GA tickets this year though ( I think you can finally get em on line ) in the past their ticket system has been absolutely pathetic.

I'll be on the NZ Guns & Hunting Magazine stand or walking around so come say Gidday

Always wear lots of blaze down there, last time we went some young guys were drinking and spotlighting near our campsite, flying around in their truck being stupid. we had just come out the bush about 5 mins before they came flying down and had our son with us. Really put the shits up us

It's worth going as mentioned above all sorts of exhibitors there under one roof so you really get to see different items on offer.

There's all lots of cool little businesses that are on display from knife makers, carvers and its always great to see the different heads coming in and the photo section.

    Definately worth it!
