    Sir BJ Lochore

Lost another great NZer, had the privilege of selling him timber many years ago on his farm, for one of the “smaller” ABs, he was a big man when you stood next to him.
On the squash court, he would hog the T, and with his long arms play most shots without moving. You’d run a few miles in a game to get around him, you couldnt hip bash him to move, cause he didn’t! Nice thing was he never beat me!!
    That was in the 70-80s.
Great man, with a great wife and family, RIP Sir Brian

RIP Brian. Alas we are short term occupiers of this world and eventually it will happen to us all.

Yes RIP BJ, He was a great Waiarapa Bush stalwart & great leader. His coaching style pre 1987 WRC was legendary.

Remember when he took over coaching Wairarapa Bush, from. Roddy McKenzie, I think. First said all places up for grabs, put a young guy in at half back? I Rutene I think, was still playing school rugby. BJ took them to first division, had a gift.
