Some things don't get better with age

Rode the Karapoti 50k Classic MTB race on Saturday, rode in the "retro" class so not suspension, clip in pedals or disc brakes. Dusted off my old 1994 Avanti ( which I haven't ridden for friggen years) pulled all my old retro early 90's gear out'a storage. Mint lets get ready for battle. Going really well then 2/5 ths of the way in at the top of the "rock garden" the glue in my old specilized shoes lets go ( both at pretty much the same time ) and completely fall to bits FYM, get to the bottom of the hill and dodgy a make shift pad for each peddle and do the last 30'ks riding/walking in bare feet.

Still broke 4 hours which was my goal and came 2nd in retro class, missed out on first by 1 minute fuck it !

Fark, you're a fit bugger ! Well done, I go tramping in there quite often.

Was coming back from Cheltenham shoot yesterday afternoon and hit the Karapoti traffic just before I got home.

    Well done Philipo.

Hate to think what they would class my '83 Avanti as.

Good on ya Philipo but I do have to say "Madness" riding in bare feet.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

You followed his instructions just fine. You were sensible and soaked your feet from the inside.
