    sorry , another stinkin import question

    so , just looking at cheaper than dirt (website) they have pistol mags for my sig .... if I get a mate overseas to buy them .... how does the import permit thing work then , as it will now be a private sale , ... I know I need a permit for all pistol mags .... anyone bought private before and not through brownells et al , etc ?

    so I guess what im asking is , do you have to buy through a registred company , .. or can I use the import for a private sale ....or should I just ask my AO .....

    B, the other question as well is if your mate over there needs to sort out export paperwork. If he sends an item that requires export permit it could land him in hot water as well...

    yep , your right there , I would never do it under the radar , , ... cheaper than dirt will only sell to usa , but their prices are very good ......will have to check with ao , ... but what about the under $100 thingamajig? .....

    i ordered 3 s&w pistol mags from somewhere that wouldnt ship outside us, shipped to someone in states and had them on ship them to me thru standard usps post. there was no issues with export permit leaving the states. was march 2012, cant remember who i put on the permit as sending them, i dont think it would matter as longs as the exporting state is listed as the usa.
    just put cheaper than dirt as the supplier. im looking at my permit now, and doesnt list who sent them anyway, only where they are coming from.

    No, but your friend will still have to file paperwork on the US side if you're using the sub $100 exemption. Just get the mags from Brownells.

    i should have said, no issues with not having an export permit. wont let me edit post
