The South Island has the best Bacon

I see that a Canterbury butcher has been judged as making the best bacon in the country. Just doesn't seem right that the mainlanders get to eat better than me!

Best used to come from Rai valley before Heberd sold up, we'd buy it 20kg at a time.

Still the mainland Sneeze. How am I supposed to maintain the waistline that has taken years to achieve if I can't get good tucker?

He he he he. Yep I'm a shiney bum desk driver in my day job. Too easy to have the forum open and dip in and out at random. Thanks for the offer of your Ma's cooking but I am fairly well catered for, I just had a hankering for a good bit of bacon when I saw the news last night. The quality of bacon certainly changes from place to place and there is nothing worse that getting some of that imorted crap that oozes white when you start cooking it.

By mother I ment mother of my children, my Mum cant bake anymore which my tastebuds are greatfull for great with animals not so dedicated in the kitchen. My wife on the otherhand has contributed generously to the 4 1/2 stone Iv managed to acumulate in the last decade or so.

Know what you mean Sneeze, I have near doubled my weight since leaving the army in 76. Was a skinny fit little bastard at 10 stone twelve (dripping wet), now somewhat more amply proportioned. I figure that you may as well enjoy the pleasures of life and good tucker is one of them that is right up there with rootin and shootin.
