    Spark

What a bloody stupid name for a comms company.
I just went to pay my phone bill online as per usual, and due to age/mental confusion/fuckwitism, I paid the power company instead.
Now I will no doubt have the pleasure of trying to sort out an overpayment to the power co.
    Telecom...means phones. Spark....means electricarry

I agree, Pengy, it is a pretty silly name...imagine the cost of the change of name/logo etc...

what really gets me is the $1.50 charge for the paper invoice fee...

not too mention grodafone now charging xtra to pay by credit card just like the wankers at the Tasman District Council doing the same.
apparently its not good enough to pay your bill before the due date but for the convenience of paying by CC gonna cost you more.

well all you buggers better not need my services cause I will be remembering that.

Recouping (with a slight profit) the cost of producing and posting a paper invoice whereas emailing is free comparatively speaking.

I appreciate what you are meaning, Ryan, but with a rural broadband, which most often is a broken rubber band, the fact that there is a charge for paper invoices tends to annoy me...

I would have thought no charge as they've saved heaps from those that have gone to paying on line. I now email my invoices and statements, posted 8 this month! Saving about $2k a yr in postage!

I know what you mean about rural skinny band EeeBees, it costs a small fortune and out here sometimes the hamster on the treadmill jumps of for a sleep just as you are trying to download and it takes hours. City slickers with their turbo boosted, jet propelled broadband which costs them next to nothing just don't understand that rural delivery post is much faster for us.

Rushy I have fibre past both my home and bus, but I'm with Spark and unless I change to Trustpower for my phones I can't as yet get it connected Spark haven't paid for the rights to connect it in my areas as yet, why would I put my phones with a power company? It a screwed up bunch of greedy bastards controlling these things, by the way Good morning, you have a great day!

Paul Henry got it right when Telecom changed their logo to the * thing. "Just looks like they've got their wires crossed...." Fuckin' nail on the head right there. When the Spark branded web site went live, I tried to look up new broadband plans on it, got broken links and 404 errors on heaps of pages. No bloody QA done, totally unprofessional. Dicks.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.
