    Stupid Questions - Good Response

Recently Australian Army officer Major General Peter Cosgove was interviewed on ABC radio by a female reporter who was questioning him about guns and children. The interview came about because General Cosegove was about to sponsor a visiting boy scout troop to his base. Here is how the interview unfolded:

Female Interviewer: General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
General Cosegrove: We are going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.
Female Interviewer: Shooting! That is a bit irresponsible isn't it?
General Cosegrove: I don't see why. They will be properly supervised on the rifle range.
Female Interviewer: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
General Cosegrove: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
Female Interviewer: But you are equipping them to become violent killers!
General Cosegrove: Well ma'am, you are equipped to be a prostitute, but you are not one, are you?

The radio broadcast then went silent for 46 seconds and when it returned the interview was over.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
