    Target cam

After deciding it was too hard to see bullet holes at any decent distance I came up with a cheap alternative to using a spotting scope. Total cost of this Targetcam setup was approx $290 from memory.

I went on eBay and purchased a HD video camera with TV out (Chinese "pro-more model for $26)(uses AA batteries) and a 3watt transmitter/receiver set (12 V), then two gel cell 12v batteries (SA12-7 20a/hr) and a 10 inch dvd player from dick smiths

Then, at one of our usual LR practise areas I set the camera up to film the target from about ten feet away and to the right ( not in any projectiles flight path )

Then connected the 3w transmitter (12v powered) to the TV out on the vid recorder

Then 1000yards to 3000yrds away back to the shooting position I set up the 3watt receiver and plugged it into the 'in' port of the DVD player.

Now I don't need a spotting scope for target practise (which never worked past 1000 yrds anyway)

Once you fire the shot, glance at the screen and depending on projectile flight time a hole appears on screen, on target in perfect HD, and looks like it's about 5 feet away.

It works perfectly, no static or shitty picture, just a clear image of your target as projectiles assault it

Yes the video recorder stores to memory or card at the same time

So you can play it all back later

Have used it for probably 6 or 7 years now and no problems.

And no one has shot the camera either !!!!!!

Normal HD mate, crystal clear, exactly like filming the target from ten feet away.

You can read your own pen writing.

    For 1000yrds I use a 4 inch dot

    For 2000yrds I use a 8 inch dot
