TM users... Some don't make sense

    Bit of a rant...

I've been keeping an eye on portable stock scales for months now, and second hand units rarely go for less than $7-900.

I came across a new listing that had both start/reserve $250 and a buy now of $500, I wanted a question answered first as I'm only up that part of he the country once a month and don't want an upset seller if I pay then don't collect for another 2 weeks.

In the mean time on teh eh very first day, someone hits the first bid obviously didn't know the value/demand of the item.

The sale closed at $900 so the seller musty e very happy with the result, the original bidder pulled out at $500.

    Rant over...

I said above, I asked a question first to ensure that the seller was ok with a delayed collection. I'm only in AKL the last week of each month so a 2.5 week delay. Some people will give negative feedback over the smallest issues if not discussed and agreed upon first.

I'm looking for a set that will do both. Ideally the unit, load bars/cells and a platform, then I can do my cattle, and I could also build/rig up a drafting crate to do my sheep too. but I'm a bit Scotch and don't want to spend a lot because I only have 6 calves and yearlings, and also 10-15 breeding ewes and about 10 lambs from last year. Guessing weights for sending a line off to the yards is a bit hit and miss but on such a small operation, I can't justify the $1000-1500 new.

I missed out of a set of scales and load bars only a month back as cashflow was/is tight, but sooner or later something will pop back up.

Moonhunt, I hadn't thought of buying regardless and then getting one of you guys to collect and hold for me. Will keep that in mind.

    Cheers, John

Have you thought about a weigh band/ weigh tape, cheap cost affective way to do the cattle, not precisely accurate but good enough to let you know where your at with things

Shoof or the vet centre have them
