Is it true that once you go Black you never go Back?

For a long time now I've been a die hard Larger drinker but recently I felt the need for a change and have started sampling some of the Black Beers.

Black Beers I've recently tried so far along with a rating scale.

No thumbs up = Don't touch it with a barge pole

    One thumbs up = Drinkable

Two thumbs up = Very Drinkable

Three thumbs up = Very Very Drinkable

Four thumbs up = Nectar of the Gods

    Guinness

    Founders Porter

    Monteiths Black Beer ,

I'm liking this drop so far

Surprisingly enough I'm enjoying my trip on the dark side

Not sure I'll be going back any time soon either.

Anyone care to make some recommendations on what other Black Beers are available.

    Cheers
    Pete

Give Rennasance Stonecutter a squirt, Fullers Porter and London Pride are also quite good I think, mind you it might be the beer talking.

I'll keep an eye out for the Miner Dark in the supermarket.

How many Thumbs Up would you give the Miners Dark?

I have a sister at Cronnadun and another at Dobson, could always get them to send me some if I can't find any locally.

    Cheers

I have recently gone down exactly the same road and I do like the Monteith"s. Stoke is another worth a try.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

They have London Pride on Tap at my favourite Irish Pub, will give it a try next time I'm in there.

How many Thumbs Up for your picks Marty Henry?

    Cheers

Of course it's better, it's actually got some flavor.

Also consider trying some single malt whisky. Best place to buy it is on line at either
Whisky - Buy Whisky/Whiskey Online in New Zealand - Whisky and More

    or

    Liquor Cabinet

As long as it's a single malt (not a blend like Johnny Walker) and it's got a age statement on it you can't go too far wrong.

I dont think you will find it anywhere but on tap at Baileys, the Denniston Dog or the Cosmopolitan.

Id give it 3 I reckon.
