    uhf cb question

    got a uhf in the wagon its quite good to listen to I know it works but no one want to talk back not sure why the only thing I can think of is I don't have or use a call sighn I tried using my name but no replys so I'm wondering where the call sighns come from or do you just make one up if so I think mine will be no mates nigel

    Is it cb on 26mhz? That's what the truckies use I believe.
    If it is a UHF on PRS Chanel's , you are poking a pig in the dark as to which Chanel is being used at any particular time.

    PRS it scans so I can tell what channel's being used 5 seems to be a popular one

    I know seems to be a chat channel that's why I'm asking here I think its a repeater channel up these ways as well

    NZ does not have any pre set channels, they're all open for calls other than the data channels.

    Only on VHF now as far as I know. CH10 seems popular here, often hear the truckies talking.

    UHF Cb is shit they have limited range 26 MHZ is the way to go much better range I gave up the CB radio hobby after the Radio Frequency service did away with licensing and made 26 MHZ open slather which bought on the knob ends and channels were jammed up left right and center with music playing yobos mind you I did take the occasional break from 26 MHZ up on the 27MHZ european channels every now and then thanks to a dodgy ham radio dealer that used to sell radios to everyone and anyone many moons ago he's not in business anymore but he had a damn good customer base.

    I run the am CB in my truck find it good ch11 wen out on the road listening to the truckies you get the odd good one let them know you are there and they will let you know it's safe to pass etc ch15 when I'm out off road with mates comes in real handy
    If theres lead in the air theres hope
