    US Gun "Buy-back"

    Sound familiar?

    Same talking points, same rhetoric.

They have a constitution. We dont so Parliament is the supreme law maker [the existing party in power]. Dont just hate Labour. National has done nothing to oppose this proposed legislation. Simon Power has got as much balls as Adern has got beauty. You have essentially unelected bureaucrats [nz police[ making law under the guise of safety. Law abiding citizens dont massacre people . That simple logic is defeated about the moronic rally call that gun ownership is a privilege. An eel has more IQ than Nash. Adern has the big picture vision like David Lange but that sadly waned and was swamped by the onslaught of economic change.

We do have constitution but unfortunately it is spread bit by bit over many Acts and Laws. It needs to be consolidated so it cant be undermined piecemeal.

I can't imagine a scenario where this wouldn't lead to civil war in the US (please share if you have one). Every single state and federal employee swore an oath to protect the constitution.

O but we do have what some would refer to as a " Constitution " except it is called The Bill of Rights .
    And the kicker is

    Part 3
    Miscellaneous provisions
28 Other rights and freedoms not affected

An existing right or freedom shall not be held to be abrogated or restricted by reason only that the right or freedom is not included in this Bill of Rights or is included only in part.

I think a lot of American firearm owners will believe such a thing can't happen there and that they are different to other countries, but I believe that is naive and that it could in the right circumstances.Even if they don't get outright confiscation anytime soon I can easily see a federal law passed, stopping the sale, import,or manufacture of modern military firearms to the public there....in fact I would expect that to happen there sometime in the next decade the way things are going.

The US federal govt has limited power within the US, far less than we are led to believe. States do as they please to a great degree, and an increasing degree.

I know how things work over there, lived there for many years. When it comes to Federal firearm laws the states do not do as they please.....if the Federal govt there bans the import, sale or manufacture then thats it does not matter what individual states or areas within have to say.....they quite simply will not be available for sale.Just loot at what happened to bump-stocks there after that shooting in Las Vegas.....

In several areas I am familiar with, states have been doing as they please. Three are taking gold as tax payments and have started their own reserves. I forget which ones.

I seriously doubt the federal governments ability to enact serious restrictions. They have bigger issues.

Anything is possible because the left will continue to march and cause chaos until they get the results they want. The two recent "mass shooters" were both linked to Antifa, one was directly involved with them. There have also been two failed mass shooting attacks by Antifa in Texas and Washington where both shooters died from lead poisoning before they could do much. I would expect plenty more domestic terrorism from Antifa.

In the meantime you can build a basic AR-15 for just over $300 and 30 round magazines are less than $10 on sale. So lots of people are buying in bulk. I have a hard time finding stripped AR lowers in my state at gun stores because they sell out so quickly. Judging from FBIs NICS background check stats there will probably be 20 million new guns sold this year. Since obama was elected probably 150 million new guns have been sold. People outside of the leftist hell hole cities know that these leftist want to expand outwards and conquer everyone.

The cannabis issue is a great example. The feds haven't been doing nothing significant to stop it.

Federal law enforcement is overwhelmed as it is, mostly due to illegal immigrant criminals.

With most things in life here in the USA, especially outside the cities, you really don't interact with the federal government that much, it's mostly your local town or state that you would deal with on most things. The vast majority of Americans their only interaction with the federal government every year is sending in their tax return.

That's something I cannot forgive Trump for the way he went about the bumpstocks in terms of the legal avenue he used. It is being challenged in the courts.

I suspect most of the 500,000 of them out there were buried in the ground or stuck in a closet somewhere. When you are out there in the middle of South Dakota or Wyoming, no one is going to know or care if you have one.

Thatís one thing the firearms industry can thank Obama for & that was the increase in gun sales when he took office!

Sadly we felt it over here as shops were bare as it was hard for American suppliers to keep up with their domestic market never mind the exporting demands!
