What ammo for Norinco J15 .22

Does anyone have a Norinco 22, and what ammo do you use?

Every rifles different. Try a few different brands.
Are you after HV or subsonic ?
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

Mine likes PMX subs. A couple of 5 shot groups at 50m when I sighted it in.

There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

Mine's a jw15 short and shoots best with Fiocchi subs, I tried with my preferred CCI subs and found accuracy was all over the show. Remington golden bullet were okay, but the Fiocchi came out best.

I have a JW 15, only shot CCI and Winny subs through it so far but shoots both well. Would like to try Fiocchi, where do you guys get it from ?

Haven't seen Fiocchi in the shops lately - as in their subsonic ammo. Mid last year I bought 1.5k of Fiocchi match ammo direct from Target Products in Washdyke. They sell Italian Fiocchi direct but I am not sure about hunting type Fiocchi ammo which I think is Fiocchi USA and some of it is made in Mexico. Contact TP and ask. At any rate, I did try a box of F subs about a year ago and it wasn't spectacular in my rifles whereas their match ammo is quite good. Yourself or others may find different.

Problem in NZ is we suffer droughts of variety and if you find something your rifle likes it is best to get a brick or 3 or whatever while you can.

Pinch some off the old man. He won't notice 40-50 out of each box

You'll have to try a number of ammos for best accuracy in your 22. From range testing JWs off the bench we've found winchester products, PMX/Stirling subs and Fiocchi HV are usually good. Fiocchi HV is made in Mexico and is a very good ammo - not sure where there subs are made.

As Zimmer notes Target Products near Timaru handle Fiocchi if its not in your local shop:
