Bugger ya @Gibo, I was just eyeing up that rusty knife for the next catch up.

@NRT, I detect sarcasm there, and rightly so.......my post was a bit OTT. (Makes a mental note to himself...."Stop replying to forums after the good wife has been plying you with her latest batch of Rose Petal wine at dinner.")

The message I was trying to get over to the group was that when one is younger there is a real fear that a vasectomy may somehow impact or reduce ones virility or general maleness, what ever that is. I know for my self, especially in the "Macho World" that I was immersed in at the time, that was my real fear. I guess I was just trying to show that it is all a state of mind....get the snip and just live the life that you want anyway....your choice, your decision.

That said, it is good to receive some grounding on my posts as well. :-)
    Thank you.

    Cheers
    Phil

I went for the local anaesthetic "no scalpel" version in Perth in 2013. All went well and recovery was as promised.

The only issue was the surgeon's request. He asked if it was ok if "a couple" of students observed the procedure. I was somewhat sceptical but being an occasionally generous fellow I agreed.

Every single one of the six students was a desperately hot, early 20-something vixen. My todger promptly disappeared so far into my groin, it resembled a radish wearing a beanie. I've never been so embarrassed in my life. I gave it a sound telling off when I got home, by which time it had returned to normal, acceptable form. I'll never forget the feeling of excruciating inadequacy.

Similar experience when I had my op. Two student doc's in tow of the surgeon, both stunning. I'm sitting there groggy as, as the nurse gingerly unwraps the mummy movie prop bandages - all I could think was pass-the-parcel theme music...

Finally gets down to the bottom layer, the poor nurse is waist deep in red stained wrappings and I have this distinct memory of the two students leaning over as the nurse pops the last dressing off and then turning their heads and looking at each other, nodding and grinning then both turning back for another look. Right about then the surgeon said something like "all as expected, thanks you can redress it", the entire dog-and-pony show turned on their heals and disappeared to the next victim I mean patient and I nodded off back to dreamland. To this day, I have no idea what the hell the look was about but the curiosity is like that itch you can never scratch...

My loving wife nagged and then screamed at me till i gave in and had a vascectomy. year later my balls started to swell because the sperm couldnt escape and after 5 years of pain and swollen nuts i got a reversal. Cost 11750 dollars and the wife hasnt forgiven me, all that nagging down the drain. I also get up 3 times a night for a leak and have prostate problems. Google ;dont fix it . com; to find out a lot of truths about this subject.

So, @tanqueray, how's your friend reacting to all the input?

Reminds me about the time I went in to hospital about my piles, the specialist asked if it would be ok if a student observed so I said yes. Young lady came in, specialist got out an instrument and shoved it up my ass then pumped this big ball on the end of it which felt like it was not only stretching my ass but my stomach felt like it was going to explode. He passes the instrument over to the girl to look up, they both took turns looking and moving this thing around all the while I was in total agony. I have never been in so much pain, I can tell you the motorbike ride home wasn't pleasant either.

The closest thing to having a vasectomy was having a ball removed so your friend should harden up.

If you have the choice of getting a ball removed and living , or keeping your ball and dying, which would you choose?
