    Windy Wellington

Rushy I checked the weather forecast last night and it wasn't looking so good, so I slept in this morning and have put my recce on hold. Good thing too - I got up to find the neighbour's compost bin in our courtyard, our recycling bin nearly over the fence, branches down out the front and all over the road.

Apparently this is all normal. Jet and I aren't so sure!

Dougie, I called of the hunt that I had planned because the long range said it would be crap weather. Today has been great and I have done shit loads around the place. Just a little bit pissed that I am not in the bush now.

That's always the way eh. It was warm but windy this morning, now it's quite cold and very very wet and windy. We live close to the airport and there have been a distinct lack of planes today

I've heard Wellington airport is one of the sketchier airports to land at in this corner of the world an on days like these I can certainly see why! I sure hope spring comes good or I'll regret not staying in the BOP ha ha.

Are you near the airport Jay? It's not as bad as this morning now...still, I wouldn't hang my laundry out side! I've heard a couple planes land this arvo.

When I was doing the navigation part of my PPL I won the top-navigator prize which was to navigate a C-130 from Blenhiem to Dunners, Dunners to Wellington then Wellington to Christchurch. That was the first time I had landed at Wellington airport and shit is was a cool first experience, sitting strapped in tight on the flight deck looking out the side windows with 25 degrees drift!!!

Not exactly, I live on The Terrace but I worked at the airport for a while and I've seen a few planes bail out on their first attempts ha ha. No wonder the bar got so busy on windy days...

Now I learn you have your PPL. Jeez Dougie what next? Brain Surgery? Best you list for us all the things you haven't done so this old fellah knows and doesn't open his trap on a subject and make too many mistakes in front of an expert.

Set some traps to catch the pricks Dundee. I know you remember how to lay a punji pit so get digging and make sure you shit on the bamboo spikes before you cover the hole.
