    Word of warning, heads up

I'm not a cantabrian but I'm very much one eyed at the moment
Last weekend a strange not in a South Island way but more of a not normal type of pain developed in my right eye, "give it a flush out with some eye drop I've got" was the advise from my better half! I started losing 50/50 vision it was getting more like 70/30. Monday morning gave my optician who I had a good repore with a call come straight in he says... turns out I was aflicted with virus borne by either a common cold / flu it was attacking my cornea and "axis of vision" long and short of it is I'm on antibiotic & steriod drops. Prognosis longterm will depend on the scarring so guys look after your eyes they don't grow back I had never heard of the common cold potentially carrying a virus that could effect your eye sight. Since in my line of work I'm reading architectural plans and specification it will be a life changer if I don't recover sufficient sight in my eye.
Not too mention looking through the scope on a rifle

I get iritis/uveitis regularly, and its very similar in symptom. Last time I visited Nelson it was a trip to the ophthalmologist to have them cut my right eye open and inject steroids into my eye. The new hospital is nice.

Jeez Bonecrusher that isn't something that most people would even be aware of.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Hope you recover well Bonecrusher. Not something I was aware of. Thanks for the warning.

No good bonecrusher, I am with kiwijames on this one. I had a severe case of iritis as well. Hardly any vision in left eye, very painful, and it went on for a long time, and the pain at times was shocking, would not wish it on anyone. Need up having many steroid injections directly into the eyeball.....pretty freaky... And ya can't blink coZ my eyelid was held open. Look after your eyes.
