I run Hornady 95g SST's through my Stevens 243. Laser accurate if I do my part right.

the "cheap" 80 or 100 gn sp ammo like Federal powershock is hard to beat for hunting out to 200 yds

I've had luck with 80 grn Federal.

I have used Fusion in a .270wsm and it was very good.

I've tried a few of the cheaper brands and weights. PPU was bad and the brass was irregular on the second loading. The remington 80gn went ok, the brass was better on the reload. Winchester 100gn went everywhere so I won't use those in a 1:10 twist barrel again. Their 80gn went much better. Haven't tried the reloads yet but the primer pockets and case mouths are more consistant so I'm thinking they'll be similar in performance to the remington brass

Found Geco 105s and 87s went very good in my old Winchester, tried quite didn't like PPU, with the rest falling in between

As most know i love the 243, its my go to rifle and honestly the Fed powershoks in 100gr are awesome for bush hunting, out to 250m. I havnt lost one animal yet with these and shot plenty of deer, pigs , goats.
They are as good as you going to get, cheap, work as good as anything, prob better as dead is dead. Work great on big stags, the 243 and 100 gr powershoks is y roar rifle even thou i have a 308 as well.
Of course your rifle has to like them otherwise take up the other advice but im never changing ammo in my 243. Anywhere in the shoulder, chest region and the powershok will drop it. Not sure how good the 80gr are, never tried them but the 100gr is the bomb

Yuck. Poo-Four-Free. The three here with 1:9.25" twist seem to love the 100gn pills. From factory ammo they really like the Winchester Super-X 100gn. Handloads the Speer and Sierra boat tail spire points go extremely well and seem to perform identically ballistically.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

Can't beat the Noslar Partition 85 gr will do a good job on most NZ game. Not sure if available as a factory round( maybe Federal do a load ) but as a hand load it's hard to better.
Over the years I and BeeMan have used all manner of loads and factory loads in the 243 but have always liked the 80- 85 gr bullet weight especially the stronger constructed ones.

95 grain Targex from Bryn Blythen works really well.

They put stuff down in a hurry and are accurate for some long range critter busting.
@Double Shot is gonna wax on about the Sierra 85 hpbt too.... a lot of folks swear by them in the states and on hunt fish
