Hey when you back up KScott. Was meant to be down for a looksee yesterday but got called in to work.
I hear young Tori Nonoka was blazing away with her purple Glock. Who other Int Ladies are there, get some pics of Jessie H and Julie G if they are over here. Great to watch in those short shorts!!!;)
Cheers
I had to come back to Auckland on Friday morning for work and a funeral. Took a few more pix, as well as Tori on Stage 3. She had a bit of a shocker for such a pro, kinda sulked a bit after that and walked around with her head down a fair bit. Shame really.
Just sorting out some slo motion video I took too then will upload them to YT.

When a competition goes wrong for you, it goes really wrong.
Did he throw his gun down range?
Sent from my GT-S5360T using Tapatalk 2
No I think it caught on the side of the ammo can as he threw the can forward. Either that or there was a failure to secure the pistol correctly in the holster and his swinging movement made it move forward. Either way, game over for failure to maintain control of the pistol.
Just spoke with the RO in the picture, he apparently DQ'd 5 shooters on the stage. Mostly he said they were trying to heave the box downrange so they could shoot freestyle and they clipped the grip of the gun with the box on the way past. Not my idea of fun watching a gun in the ready condition going end over end down range!
Yeah that'll age yah seeing that happen :wtfsmilie:
I did see one shooter simply rest the can on the sandbags, shoot, relocate and then easily pick up the can again without having to bend down too far. As they say, slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
Had one of the guys in my squad do that on that stage, and another on the landing craft stage - not good mojo - at least i finished
Will watch the clips when I get home but surprised to see a Japanese shooter in the mix there, must be a hell of a mission for him to train in Japan given their firearm laws?
Eish, the blooper clip, finger inside the trigger guard while doing mag change ! Fastest way of getting DQ if the RO is half awake :pacman:
Tori and the young Kiwi guy in the blooper clip have quite a rigid body position, arms seem to be hyper extended, bit weird...
The Japanese shooter was in my squad, I asked him the same question. In Japan he practices with airsoft. He travels to Phillipines, Thailand, and the USA to practice with real guns. He was a decent shooter too.
The Japanese teams are very competitive. I think it was the 2008 or 2010 speed steel challenge that the Japanese team won the team event. Yep they train airsoft all year in Japan and travel to pistol friendly nations for live fire, borrow pistols and kit and acheive some impressive results at times.
I have never tried airsoft IPSC but it would seem a great tool for learning movement, mag changes, target transitions and positional changes at speed. The only issue is the top range race airsoft pistols run at near the same price as top centrefire pistols-crazy. In HK it has a huge following aswell.
Seems as if the ROs were busy during the week with approx 34 DQs. I heard about the thrown/dropped pistol, cant get youtube access currently but will check it out. The ROs would have earned their beer last week lol.
Cheers.
I had a mate do exactly the same thing on that stage on day 2, good one R.K, I had a bad run on that stage anyway as my gun jammed every round on the decidedly crap match ammo.
