My black powder experience. Had a .45 hawken got a bit of rust during a trip down to the south island to a motorbike rally. Once I got home. I stripped it down and had the barrel in the vice at a slight angle to hold the oil in. While I was away chasing the new significant other woman, disaster happened. The ex in her deranged state, obviously missing me used the woodwork for firewood including the brass work. Well that was grounds for divorce. Do you know how much that can cost? Tell you what, it put me off black powder

My struggle became real when as a .308 owner I purchased a .270. We are not talking black powder here. Life is difficult with the choices we make

A mate and his missus going through a very nasty time and communication was non existent. His LandCruiser radiator sprung a leak and he pulled it out to solder it up. The job was bigger than the gear he had so he had to take it into town, couldn't fit it on his motorbike so fcuk it, l'll take the missus car. An hour later heading back home he spies a land cruiser belching steam and smoke a couple of KMs on the town side of his house. Turned out the dragon decided to go to town, he'd flogged her car, she saw the cruiser and the rest is history. Nothing about black powder but he was in a black mood when he turned up on his motorbike with a sleeping bag.

Oh wait that is my house sink

And that is a 176 year old muzzleloader barrel being cleaned there

I'm in no way advocating this behaviour
Well at least not if you have a partner

Bachelor's. You just go for it

And I should add that my wife was cooking a lovely meal off mushroom risotto and wild lamb chops while i was cleaning that barrel.

She is total desensitized to what will come the short distance from my workshop to the house.
It helps that she doesn't have the slightest interest either what they all are

If I recall correctly last time @rambo-6mmrem was here we were cleaning his rifles on the dining room table as it was too cold out in the shed...
May have even been giving a bore a bit of polish with some JB paste.

I do have an area to clean in the reloading room, but you know, the heat pump is over the dining room table so what are we to do?
