Canadian seeking help on getting visitor's firearms license

    Hello All,

Well I finally am making my way down to your fine country on Sept 29th for a few months. Planned to bring a couple rifles along and do some hunting and shooting while there. I attempted to fill out the online NZ police form to get a visitor's firearms license but it seems it now requires that I provide the address, name, and firearms license number of a NZ citizen or resident.

Problem is, I don't know anyone that currently has those requirements. I've been in contact with NZ police on the matter and they still want me to provide those details before issuing a license. Even though 8 months ago they didn't require the same of my father when he traveled to NZ. I've had the few contacts I have down your way try and locate someone but to no avail.

I just need the details to complete the online license application. It can be changed once I arrive and get a gun safe for wherever I end up staying. But time is starting to run very short. Any help is appreciated.

So if anyone knows anyone that is willing to help I will try to make it worth their while.

    Thanks.
