    Plans look great Beaker!

My fiancee's family lives in Ashburton we go there periodically throughout the year. Was always nice being able to use the ARUA range but that's closed down now. When this is up & running can shooters rock up pay the fee and blast away?

Or does one need to become a member?

Becareful about offering help!!! LOL, - serious though, more the merrier and certainly will be needed.

Just finishing off the paper war, and the dirt is starting to be moved onsite.
Then there's all the other stuff to be done. (plastic barrels lids cut out placed and filled - need some more of these to if anyone has alot, range buildings, baffles, drains, levelling/tidy up of ground, grassing, target lines, power, security, fencing, etc.....)

As to use, the current models are -
    - Public night/day. Rock up, pay a one off fee and shoot under direction of a RO
    - Pay a yearly fee. Do a RO course once (onsite), Rock up and shoot when ever (electronic key issued - don't pay, gate don't open....)
    - Buy a visit (or multiples, like 5 visits etc..). Do a RO course (onsite) Rock up and shoot when ever (electronic key issued - when amount of visits finished, gate don't open... buy more and key will work.)

All of the above will be subject to clubs booking ranges, etc.... so there will be a fee times that wont be available for general shooting

Trying to make it simple as, and flexible - and not any one club rules the range complex!

There's the existing Taiko range behind Timaru on Pareora Ford rd, eventually to be replaced by Beaker's project. 50/100/200M from covered shooting position.

The NZDA have a range session there on 11th July, which I believe non-members can also turn up and shoot at for $20.
They typically hold range days on 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, and closed over lambing, but the 4th Sunday this month is otherwise booked.

Let me know if you're keen for more details and I can send you the email/cell of a chap on the range committee who'll be able to give definite details.. (Mine are just 'as far as I know')
