    Copper mine

Tried to get a pic of my AR 6.8 barrel after 15 shots. Has had about 120 through it total.

This is about the worst copper fouling i have seen, is it even that bad? Still shoots OK.

By alright i mean about 1.5" at 100m average which is good enough for what I want with this rifle. Its got a pretty lightweight barrel, the whole rifle with scope ect is only 6.5 pounds

    Fire-lapping a bad idea?

Give it a jam and let us know

You can give it a good wank with JBs or Autosol, BUT your copper extends all the way to the crown....

Shoot it clean.. if its same when fouled then ignore it

Could it be related to the projectile being used ?

clean the hell out of it,make sure there is absolutely no copper left in it.
load a few blanks and fire to carbon barrel.
    This can help a lot.

My last 4 rifles would all copper foul like that - even after only a few rounds. My current rifle - will look like that after only a couple of rounds and yet all my previous rifles shot well and my current one is an absolute machine. Doesn't do a cold/clean flyer - I've never not found a sub moa load for it in over 5 different projectiles including the finiky LRAB - only ever used factory ammo in it once and that was for shooting her in - and even that shot sub moa after 2 sighters to get it on paper. So I've come to the conclusion that we/people get antsy about having copper showing in our barrels and can chase tales all day long - yet if it shots then why worry?

Will give that a try, my groups are the same dirty or clean and relatively the same POI so not to worried, its only a rattle gun. I have just changed to a faster powder and im getting bugger all carbon fouling.
