Cracked it myself today, only a club day - does that count ??

Been back at F and FTR for 3 months after a 35 year hiatus from smallbore and fullbore. Got an Omark M44 that had been worked over by Din Collings (supposedly for himself) with a rough stock but a lovely Kreiger CR 1:8 barrel. The rifle came with quite a few rounds of Viv's reloads, 80 gn sierra's over 2208 in Federal Nickel cases (cringe) and I knew after the first 100m session it was a shooter. Shot it with a Harris bipod and a IOR 2.5-10 scope, got a few 58.5.s etc but couldn't quite "crack the tonne".

Enter today a new Sightron 8-32x56 scope and voila - with little info/help from friends (adjust the diopter on the scope so you're not wearing your specs, keep head up so no cheek weld, and rest your eye from the scope) today in nice conditions I shot a 60.5 at 300. Yahoo Now all I have to do is repeat it on a consistent basis.

Well done good Sir. A "60" counts wherever/whenever you shoot it. Great Shooting. Celebrate your success.

300 yards seems to have to smallest margin for errors . 500 and 800 yards seem to be the easiest, possibly the largest target in proportion to distance.
