    Flasher Targets (electronic)

Guys, can anyone who has an electronic flasher type gong target pls shed some light...

I'm curious if it requires a certain energy (ft/lb) hit to activate ?

Basically want to get a way of seeing confirmed hits using a small caliber like 223 with lightish projectiles a long way off...

On some of the gong shoots we have real issues seeing splash for the lighter 6.5s

Tx gonetropo, from the sound of things it should work.

I'll go fling some lead at the one that the Taihape or Taranaki boys have and see how it re-acts.

We use a mechanical one, has no trouble working when hit with .223 at 600m and doesn't rely on electronics

Gilie's one responded OK to my Grendel at 600m (large plate) and was much appreciated.

@mikee, is the one you are talking about similar in design to the manual flashers they use at cable bay ?

If you have any additional info on design, weight etc that would be great.

Sparrowhawk use the magspeed ones and flashed well on a heavy 1m sqr plate at 2k with a 260.

It is the ones they use at Cable Bay, 8 inch plate and flashes when you hit it. Do you want some pictures?? I know the builder of said target resides in Blenheim.
