Yeah pretty cool! The next bit - weird using ferrets to control rabbits? I have never heard that one before!
Looks interesting, apparently they're waiting for Apple to approve the app so it's not out just yet.
Yeah he's about 10 years behind the times, we've been doing that here in NZ for the last decade recording GPS tracks and kills and using ARCGIS to show it on the computer (even in 3D if you want to be flash). We also require a tail from our hunters as proof of the kill, otherwise it could be open to abuse (potential dishonesty about actual number of kills if someone wanted to just walk around pushing the button), by gathering tails as well as time-stamped GPS data it provides an assurance to everyone that an honest job is being done.
It also protects our hunters, as they can be accused being somewhere where they aren’t supposed to be. But when you bring up their GPS track with a date and time stamp on the computer and show the person making the allegation, they soon realise there is no foundation to the accusations and back right off.

Same with sampling work a few years ago. Arrive on site, turn gps on, log every sample as you go along, end of day got loaded into the computer to check we didn't miss an area on a property.
The only difference with this app is that it will work on your smart phone, so one less thing to carry round - if it can get reception/satellites.
Yeh Dougie, if you are going to re order your best buds then you should let the one at the top (VC) know before you go public.
Looks hard out! It took me a while to figure out what they were up to, letting the ferets out of the nets. I'm with you Eeebees, no thank you to those half snake half rabbits!
He's one of the guys doing the leg work on the national testing? Good job to have.
I was lending a hand to the guys who took over the eradication programmes from the company he works for, so got to bounce between Blenheim, Coromandel and Kaipara when an extra hand was needed.
Ferrets are great fun to hunt bunnies with.............until they decide to stay down the burrow and eat the bloody prey. This usually means you have to dig the little buggers out. We used to put the ferrets down to flush the rabbits (with no nets in place), then let our hawks chase the bolting bunnies. :)
